Adam Graycar has had careers in both academia and government. He has held professorial positions at Flinders University, National University of Singapore, the Australian National University, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and University of New South Wales. While at ANU he was Director of the Research School of Social Sciences, and the founder of the Transnational Research Institute on Corruption.
He acquired extensive policy experience over 22 years in the various senior level posts he has held in both in the Commonwealth and the South Australian Governments. He was the longest serving director of the Australian Institute of Criminology (Commonwealth) and head of the Cabinet Office, government of South Australia. He has worked extensively and globally with agencies such as the United Nations and World Bank.
He has two doctorates from the University of NSW. He is the author of some 300 scholarly publications, and is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. He is also a Member of the Order of Australia.
